FAMILY IMPACT CENTER

Just a reminder that we are always collecting food donations for the Family Impact Center in our pantry in the gathering area. For one week in September we collected 69 pounds of food! Thank you for your continued support of this mission. Current needs grocery list is inside the pantry door.

WELCOME TEAM VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are looking for volunteers to serve as hosts and greeters on our Welcome Team. If you are interested in serving or would like to find out more, see Pat Sefton.

A Halloween alternative Event - Reformation Party!

Join us at Heart of the Shepherd for dinner and a move! Dinner is at 6pm and movies begin at 7pm. The feature movie is Luther: The film covers Luther's life from his decision to become an Augustinian friar in 1505, following a thunderstorm, to his trial before the Diet of Augsburg in 1530. It portrays his spiritual struggles, his growing disillusionment with the Catholic Church's practices—particularly the sale of indulgences—his posting of the 95 Theses, and his eventual defiance at the Diet of Worms, where he refused to recant his teachings. We’ll have a special children’s movie in the barn.

PICKLEBALL CONTINUES THIS FALL

We are so excited to begin these two new ministries and invite you to sign up the children in your lives to be part of Trail Life or Heritage Girls. There’s still time to get them connected and involved! If you would like more information, join us for the meeting to learn more!

MIDWEEK DINNER & DISCIPLESHIP

Resumes September 17

Beginning Sept. 17th, Pastor Sam will lead a weekly Bible Study all about the texts in the Bible that we find most challenging. Did God really hate Esau? Why did Jesus say we need to hate our families? What about the Old Testament texts that make it sound like God told the Israelites to wipe out women and children during war? We’ll take on these and many other challenging Biblical sayings together. Join us Wednesday at 6:00 pm to take part in the study.
